Yokozuna is an exclusive bath bomb to the Harajuku store but will soon be released online and in some stores to celebrate the 30th birthday of the first bath bomb, invented by Mo Constantine.
When I first received my package of exclusive bath bombs, this one definitely was the strongest smelling. I immediately recognised that delicious and mouthwatering sea salted caramel scent – the scent of a soap with the same name. This is yet another cute invention by the talented Gary Shears and he based it on a sumo wrestler. Take a look at the photo gallery below to see the prototypes that were made before deciding on the final design!
Yokozuna is the highest rank a sumo wrestler can achieve before they are deemed the master of champions.
When Yokozuna bath bomb hit the water I immediately noticed that it was a fast fizzer. The colours spewed out across the surface but it didn’t create much bath art. This was designed that way because the average length of a sumo fight is 4 seconds.
I was a tiny bit disappointed to find that the scent wasn’t very potent when being used but the coarse sea salt flakes made up for it in regards to the effect it had on my skin. Before a fight, sumo wrestlers throw salt into the air to purify and cleanse the fighting ring.. hence the bath bomb containing red sea salt. I could smell the bath bomb on my skin after getting out of the bath for quite a few hours which is odd considering it was weak in the bath.
I probably wouldn’t try again unless the formula was tweaked a bit, but it’s definitely a lovely bomb.
Description taken from Lush ‘ Wrestling with worries? This deceptively sweet bomb is here to ease your troubles. While you disrobe, our heavy-hitting fizzer fills the water with its burnt umber hue and coarse sea salt to soften skin and uplift the senses. The scent itself is a battle of contradictory fragrances that meet at a happy medium: from the ultra-floral ylang ylang oil to the softly sweet tonka and vanilla absolutes—plus a bit of clove leaf oil for added kick. Hit the bath hard and sweat it out with Yokozuna. ‘
