Santa’s grotto bath bomb is a brand new addition to the 2019 Christmas range and it’s a stunning one at that. The main ingredients that add to the scent is everlasting flower and ylang ylang. A spicy and herbaceous yet sweet and grounding aroma – this product reminds me of flower’s barrow and after some research you can also find this in a few skincare products from Lush (babyface, 9 to 5 and 7 to 3 cleansers) as it has a soothing property. Back to the bath bomb, this gorgeous product fizzes slowly and foams until a frothy turquoise centre spews out across the surface of the water.
Out of the whole Christmas 2019 range, this is the bath bomb that I am the most excited for. Yes it’s pretty and yes there are blue coloured salt crystals in the centre but when I picked this up in store to sniff, I was blown away. If you’re familiar with the regular line of products from Lush then you will recognise that this is milky bath scented. Such an underrated scent from Lush, I am so pleased they chose this scent for a Christmas product this year! This bomb contains rice starch which softens the water and creates the ultimate milky effect. Whilst the outer shell foams up and creates some white and red bath art, the blue salts ooze out and create blue swirls within the foam, lilac coloured waters and the Brazilian orange and patchouli oils come together to create the classic milky bar scent. Very similar to smelling like freshly laundered linen.. perfection.
The 2019 christmas range includes this revamped snow fairy bath bomb. Last year we had the jelly bomb and previous years we have had father christmas (the one with the bright green core!) – this one is now here to join plenty of other snow fairy scented items that we all know and love. Such a gorgeous design too, this beauty has 2 different delicate lustres on either side to go with the opposite colours. The actual snow fairy scent is very mysterious as the ingredients only show us musk and ‘perfume’. However in this bath bomb there is added persian lime oil which dims down the sickly sweetness that some people may experience from the classic scent.
Yog Nog shower gel is a new addition to the huge catalogue of Lush Christmas products that we have all been begging for. 2019 appears to be the year of all things yog nog and the lush community are lapping it up. I was lucky enough to try this in store and was surprised at how moisturising it felt on the skin and how long the scent lingered for. The formula is full of fine lustre which doesn’t settle as bad as the likes of the old twilight shower gel and others from Christmas past. I would highly recommend this for anyone who loves sweet and food based scents as this will definitely hit the spot. Just like caramel and custard mixed together, maple syrup water, cargeenan extract and jojoba oil are there to soften the skin and benefit us with all of the moisturising properties. Clove bud and ylang ylang oils add a warming but uplifting element to the gel and surround you with a festive feeling.
So White bath bomb was seen several years ago as part of Lush’s Christmas range. It originally had a red foaming core and then when it reappeared a year after the core was a bright green, blue and yellow shade which I found suited the scent better. We hadn’t seen this beauty for a while until the 2018 Community Favourites where we were all shocked to find that this bath bomb was solid white! No colourful core.. just a silky smooth and milky white foam. The crisp apple scent has always and still has remained the same.
This is now being sold as part of the Harajuku exclusives in 2019 throughout the UK/US as of March 29th for an unknown amount of time for the 30th year celebrations of the bath bomb!
Description taken from Lush – ‘Mirror mirror on the wall, who’s the softest of them all? Back for a limited time, this fairy tale bath fizzer envelops you in a soothing blend soy milk, while apple and rose-scented waters transport you to a crisp forest fantasia. Don’t wait around for your prince(ss), let So White’s enchanting scent take you away instead.’
Yog Nog is an exclusive bath bomb to the Harajuku store and 2018 community favourites but will soon be released online and in some stores to celebrate the 30th birthday of the first bath bomb, invented by Mo Constantine. It was also a well loved and highly popular bath bomb back in 2015 and 2016. The soap has made a few appearances since but the bath bomb didn’t return until November 2018 after many requests from the lush community across the globe. We got our wish when Lush decided to release a ‘lush community’ collection of bath bombs – yog nog being one of them. The design was as cute as before and super detailed and the few chunks of cocoa butter in the bomb was replaced by one big chunk of butter right in the centre which smells so strong and creamy! I find the clove strong in the bath bomb portion of the bomb whereas the cocoa butter melt inside is very sweet and almost like honeycomb. It’s definitely a more warm wintery scent but there’s no rules when it comes to bathing!
Description taken from Lush ‘ Enjoy a spicy gingerbread bath with this sweet limited edition bath bomb. This beautiful bath ball carries the same burnt caramel scent as our seasonal fave Yog Nog Bubble Bar, now with a blast of extra fizzy fun. Hydrating cocoa and shea butters keep winter skin soft and supple, while spicy clove and floral ylang ylang combine to create its familiar festive aroma—keeping you bakery-fresh all season long. ‘
Cheery Christmas bath bomb appeared at Christmas in 2018 for the first time after being created by the talented Gary Shears, an inventor at Lush. The scent is brand new and has similarities to the likes of tennis ball bath bomb but a unique fruitiness that seems inspired by the plum rain scent family also. The sicilian lemon and buchu oils make for a refreshing experience in the tub and paired with the mesmerising bath art created by the hidden blue core, I would say it was my favourite bath bomb from the Christmas 2018 range.
